Fine Art Medium:  Stained Glass

“When clients tell me that my glass looks like it was always meant to be there, I’m gratified that I’ve helped them achieve their goal of blending their new art into its surroundings.”

Loretta Evans is widely recognized as an innovative, accomplished, and professional stained glass artist. For more than 25 years, she has created original designs for custom stained glass pieces.
Evans works closely with a varied client base: homeowners, interior designers, architects, and home builders. Her clients’ needs and wishes are her inspiration in designing distinctive glass windows, doors, cabinets, countertops, and even ceilings for residences, vacation homes, offices, and places of worship from Maine to Miami.
Evans prides herself on producing unique works of art, each designed for a specific client after extensive consultation. The designs incorporate the clients’ tastes and vision, overlaid with Evans’ artistic instincts.

“Each sheet of glass has its own point of interest or ‘heart,'” she says. “I start with a design but always leave myself open to change as suggested by the movement of the glass; I am often inspired by the glass itself.”

Her work has been displayed in numerous galleries and sold in museum gift shops. It has been featured in publications such as Hunt Magazine, New Jersey Home, Delaware Today Magazine, Main Line Today, Philadelphia Magazine, and Professional Home Builder.
Evans grew up in Florida and studied art at the University of Florida and Santa Fe College. For many years her studio was located in a quaint converted barn in Pennsylvania’s Brandywine Valley. She recently decided to relocate to her home state, and her studio now is located in the Artisan’s Atelier in downtown Punta Gorda.
