Fine Art Medium: Fused Glass

Color and Light…

Growing up in an artistic family, I was always encouraged to create.  I majored in fine arts when starting college, but in the 1970’s, computer programming was more lucrative.  After earning degrees in computer science and accounting, I spent decades driving a desk, but dreamt about the day when I could focus on art.  Creativity is now what drives me.  My focus is fused glass.  I love its color, reflection, dimension, and the challenge of working with heat and glass.  Varying temperatures, thicknesses, and reactive qualities of glass can produce spectacular results.

I am primarily self-taught in the art of glass, but I have also studied with a number of well-known glass artists including Kari Smoller-Minnick, Kate MacLeod, Richard LaLonde, Tanya Viet, Gail Stouffer, and Barbara Becker Simon.  The world of glass is ever-changing, and offers countless opportunities to express with color and light.  The creative journey continues….
