Special Sale of Oriental Brush Paintings by Kate Staber
Kate Staber was a Sea Grape member artist from 1994 to 2016. Her medium was Oriental Brush Painting, and she studied with master artists in both China and the US. While at Sea Grape, Kate was very involved in our scholarship program, and enjoyed working with the high school art department faculty to select the recipient. Kate now resides in a nursing home, and her family has generously donated a selection of her paintings for the express purpose of establishing a scholarship in her name. The Gallery has agreed to offer the paintings for sale with the net proceeds to be designated for the scholarship fund. The Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda collaborated with the Gallery to display Kate’s paintings at a silent auction during March. Many thanks to all who bid on the paintings or bought them outright. The auction was a huge success and all the paintings displayed were sold! However, there are still a few paintings available at our Gallery. These paintings are a unique art form. They are beautifully framed, and are being offered at an affordable, reduced price, and all proceeds benefit Charlotte County art students.
