Artist Recognition

    Our 3D Artist of the Month for May and June is Glass Artist Renee Farr.  Renee's interest in glass began when she decided to add glass components to her jewelry designs, and discovered that she wanted to explore the medium of glass more fully.  Renee's pieces are characterized by orderly and symmetrical composition and by vibrant color.  Renee is a member of several local non-profit groups that promote the arts through scholarships, workshops, and events. ​Our 2D Artist of the Month for May and June is Oil and Acrylic Painter Sue Krasny.   Sue paints primarily with a palette knife to create texture and layers of bold color.  Her travels throughout Europe and the United States provide subject matter for many of her paintings, and the flowers, birds, and animals of Southwest Florida also interest her.  Sue also enjoys creating whimsical collages blending paint, handmade paper, shells, and other found objects. Congratulations to Bev Yankwitt who won First Place in the January, 2024 "Fire" Exhibit at the Visual Arts Center for her painting, "Wildfire."

Congratulations to Kitt Moran, whose painting, "Girl on a Swing," won First Place in the Venice Art Center's "Over the Edge" exhibit, January, 2024.

Kitt Moran's painting, "Gold Kimono,"  won a Merit Award and the People's Choice Award at the Venice Art Center's "Bold & Beautiful" Exhibit on view December 15, 2023 to January 4, 2024.

Congratulations to Beverly Yankwitt, whose  painting, "Moonlight,'  was accepted into the National Watercolor Society's online International Exchange Exhibition, January,  2024.
